At FOSS, we are driven by a strong sense of purpose. A growing global population and increasing demands on food production require smarter and more sustainable solutions. Our analytical technologies help food producers around the world improve quality, reduce waste and ensure food safety.

We are looking for an experienced and quality-minded Quality Control Engineer to join our Production Quality Support, Equipment & IQC team and play a key role in securing the quality of incoming components and materials used in our world-leading analytical instruments.

The role

As our new Quality Control Engineer, you will be responsible for incoming quality control activities and for ensuring that supplied components meet specifications and quality requirements.

You will work closely with Production, Supply Chain, QA, NPI and R&D to drive fast and effective resolution of supplier-related quality issues and support successful product development projects.

This role combines hands-on inspection work, technical problem solving and stakeholder management in a dynamic high-tech manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform incoming quality control and inspection of components from suppliers.
  • Verify compliance with specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
  • Investigate and validate non-conforming parts and quality issues reported from production.
  • Drive communication and follow-up with suppliers regarding deviations and corrective actions.
  • Support production by ensuring rapid resolution of supplier-related quality issues.
  • Support R&D and NPI projects with input on quality requirements, inspection strategies and control methods.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection processes and quality controls.
  • Support calibration-related activities and ensure measuring equipment is used in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Follow approved FOSS processes and quality standards.

Qualifications

We imagine that you have a technical background such as Metrology Technician, Quality Technician, Quality Engineer, Toolmaker / Precision Machinist or a similar technical discipline with proven quality experience

In addition, we expect that you have:

  • Experience with measuring techniques, both manual and automated (CMM / 3D measurement systems).
  • Hands-on experience with inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers and gauges.
  • Solid understanding of quality control principles and quality management systems (ISO 9001 or similar).
  • Experience with technical documentation and compliance-related requirements.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and Microsoft 365.
  • Fluent Danish and English skills, both written and spoken.

It would be an advantage if you also have

  • Experience from a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements such as ATEX, UL or 3A.
  • Experience with calibration processes and measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of ESD-controlled production environments.
  • Understanding of workplace safety requirements.
  • Experience with Lean or continuous improvement methodologies

Personal skills

To succeed in this role, you:

  • Have a strong quality mindset and excellent attention to detail.
  • Are structured and responsible in your approach to work.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working across functions.
  • Can balance multiple priorities while maintaining focus on business needs.
  • Are proactive and continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes.
  • Work independently while knowing when to involve relevant stakeholders.
  • Have a strong sense of urgency and adaptability when priorities change.

We offer

We offer a demanding and rewarding position in an innovative international company that is a world leader within analytical solutions for the food and agriculture industry.

You will become part of a highly skilled team where quality, collaboration and continuous improvement are central values. The position offers significant opportunities for personal and professional development as well as the possibility to influence how incoming quality control is developed in the future.

FOSS is currently transitioning production activities from Hillerød to our new state-of-the-art production and logistics facility in Vinge, Frederikssund. During 2026, your workplace will be a combination of both sites, with Vinge becoming the primary location once the transition has been completed.
