Lead the team that makes sure every FOSS instrument works exactly as designed - every time
At FOSS, our instruments make decisions that matter — in food safety, nutrition, and agricultural quality around the world. The confidence that a FOSS instrument performs exactly as designed, from the first instrument we build to every one that follows, depends on how well it is tested in production.
As Head of Production Test Development, you will own that capability. You will lead a specialist team of ~10 engineers and set the standard for how production test development works across all FOSS new product development projects — shaping PTD into the pace-setting, well-resourced development phase that every product development project can count on.
How you will make an impact
Your role has two sides that reinforce each other: leading the PTD team in delivering production test systems on every product development project, while continuously developing the function itself — its processes, standards, tools, and interfaces with hardware, software, Technology, and NPI.
Lead and develop the PTD team: Set direction, build capability, and create a culture of technical excellence and ownership.
Own the production test development model: Define how and when PTD enters projects, manage readiness, and ensure the team's effort is concentrated where it creates the most value.
Shape testability early: Engage with R&D Hardware, Software, Technology, and NPI from concept through prototype — so test coverage, access, and architecture are designed into the product, not bolted on at handover.
Set and maintain PTD standards: Own the checklist, specifications templates, and design document standard across all product development projects.
Shape the next generation of production testing: Module-level testing, instrument self-tests, automated frameworks, and scalable architectures that get better with every product generation.
The engineering leadership we need
You are a technical leader who thinks at the system level — about how test systems, processes, and organisations work together. You know how to drive change across functions and hold a standard without losing the trust of the people around you. We envision that you have:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Significant experience in hardware test development and manufacturing environments.
Proven track record leading and developing engineering teams — setting technical direction, building capability, holding a high bar.
Strong command of LabVIEW and TestStand; practical experience with Python, C#, or C++.
Experience driving modernisation in production test: module-level testing, automated frameworks, scalable architectures.
Ability to influence hardware and software design decisions in cross-functional product development environments.
Fluency in English. Danish is a significant advantage.
