At FOSS, innovation is more than a buzzword; it’s the foundation of everything we do. Each year, we reinvest 10% of our revenue into R&D, driving our mission to enable the sustainable use of the planet’s food resources. Through advanced food analytics, we help secure food quality, reduce waste, and optimize production. Our dedication to innovation has delivered numerous industry-first technologies in our nearly 70-year history. This relentless pursuit of the near impossible is deeply embedded in our values and shared by more than 300 dedicated R&D professionals working from two global innovation hubs.

Do you want to be the electronics authority behind the analytical instruments used by the world’s largest food companies? As our new Senior Electronics Engineer, you will own the electronics that bring our next generation of instruments to life – from early concept and architecture all the way to production.

What you will be doing

Based in our Electronics department at our Headquarters in Hillerød, you will represent the electronics domain in our instrument projects, collaborating closely with the design teams and seeing first-hand how your designs shape the final product.

Our instruments build on a broad range of electronics technologies – including precision analog and signal-conditioning circuitry, mixed-signal and sensor/measurement electronics, power design, and high-speed digital – all engineered to perform reliably in demanding environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own the electronics design across your projects – from early concept and architecture through to production
  • Lead the development of our next-generation electronics, spanning the full range from analog to digital
  • Define design requirements and drive the technical trade-offs that ensure your electronics integrate seamlessly into FOSS platforms and instruments
  • Act as the electronics authority in multidisciplinary teams, working closely with embedded software and mechanics engineers and measurement technology specialists
  • Set the standard for design quality through hands-on testing, design reviews and clear documentation
  • Ensure robust, EMC-compliant designs that perform reliably in the final products
  • Share your expertise and help raise the technical bar across the electronics team

Your first year

In your first year, you’ll take ownership of electronics in one or more instrument projects, get to know our platforms and design practices, and quickly become the trusted electronics expert among other experts in your teams.

As you settle in, you’ll help shape the electronics architecture and design standards that define our future instruments – with the autonomy, senior peers and development opportunities to grow further in a technical direction.

What we hope to see you bring

The competencies below describe what is important for performing well in this role – both in terms of professional skills and how you approach your work and relationships.

We hope to see you bring:

  • Solid electronics development experience spanning both analog and digital design
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics engineering
  • Around 5–10 years of experience developing electronic products, ideally aimed at the industrial segment
  • Hands-on design experience with OrCAD/Cadence and simulation tools
  • A strong understanding of designing for EMC so your designs integrate well into products
  • A structured approach to design, planning and documentation, combined with strong stakeholder communication and a collaborative mindset
  • Fluency in English is required; Danish is an advantage
  • The ability to plan your project deliverables and make your planned work visible
  • A proactive mindset – you flag issues you see on the horizon and work with your team members to find alternative solutions and plans when needed

Why choose FOSS?
