Pioneer hardware quality and robustness
Are you ready to engineer the future of quality? Join us as our new Senior Hardware Verification Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the exceptional quality of our analytical solutions for the global food and agriculture industries. At FOSS, we are committed to developing the world's leading analytical solutions, and rigorous testing is key to our mission. In this senior position, your work will directly ensure the integrity and performance of every product we develop, from initial concept through final production.

Your everyday: breaking hardware to build it better
You will become part of the Test & Verification team, a group responsible for the reliability and legal testing of our products. Working in dynamic, cross-functional development teams, you will deliver new analytical solutions to the global market. You will work in close partnership with the Instrument Development Project Team and the Test Project Manager to plan project deliveries and ensure we create meaningful test strategies that add real value to the R&D phase.

Hands-on test execution
On a practical level, your day-to-day work in the lab will follow the entire test lifecycle:

  • You develop test protocols.
  • You procure components and build test setups.
  • You monitor ongoing tests.
  • You conclude, analyze, and report on test results.

How you will make an impact
Your role is dedicated entirely to R&D design validation, where you will drive stability, technical excellence, and hardware robustness throughout the early development lifecycle. In this collaborative environment, you will:

  • Ensure Reliability: Design and execute rigorous HALT/ALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing / Accelerated Life Testing) protocols to expose design limits and guarantee the long-term robustness of our instruments.
  • Investigate Limits: Conduct thorough corner case testing to identify unpredictable system behaviors and deliberately break prototypes under extreme or unusual operational conditions before they ever reach production.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and measurement chain experts to define testing requirements strategies.
  • Influence design: Participate actively in design reviews to provide critical input on hardware testability, influencing the product design from an early stage.
  • Solve complex issues: Drive issue resolution by identifying and diagnosing hardware defects and conducting root cause analysis for test failures.
  • Drive innovation: Stay updated on the latest hardware testing methodologies and tools to improve our processes continuously.

The engineering mindset we need
You are a naturally curious engineer who loves finding the breaking points in complex systems. You thrive in complex technical environments and are an exceptional communicator. Your technical toolkit likely includes:

  • A Master's degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Solid experience in R&D hardware test design and validation, preferably from the low-volume electronics or technology industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Arduino is a must, allowing you to build agile test fixtures, automate data collection, and create custom hardware interfaces rapidly.
  • A strong multidisciplinary background, combining a solid understanding of electronics, mechanics, and programming to build and automate advanced test setups.
  • A great understanding of the R&D product lifecycle and how early design validation contributes to a robust product.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required. It is a strong plus if you can also communicate in spoken Danish.

Engineering with purpose
FOSS contributes to the sustainable use of our planet’s agricultural resources and, in turn, to the nutrition and health of people worldwide. We make it our business to build analytical solutions that add value by improving food quality and optimizing production. Are you ready to break things so we can build them better? We conduct interviews on an ongoing basis and encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

About FOSS

Today, more than 8 billion people around the world are dependent on nutritional food. Tons of food being produced in a million different ways and under varying conditions, creating challenges all the way from field to fork. One of them, obviously, being the effects, it has on climate change.

FOSS helps the world’s 100 biggest food companies and more than 40.000 others around the world navigate exactly that with intelligent, data-driven and innovative analytical solutions.
