Purpose
These courses are designed to provide insights into spectroscopy and regression techniques and to teach participants how to monitor existing calibrations and develop new tailored calibrations using one of FOSS's calibration development tools (FossCalibrator or WinISI).
Content:
Key topics for this course are:
- Infrared Spectroscopy
- Presentation of the Calibration Development software (FossCalibrator/WinISI)
- Evaluation of spectral data using PCA (Principal Component Analysis)
- Evaluation of reference data using cross-validation
- Model development using PLS/MPLS and ANN (if applicable)
- Model performance assessment
- Model expanding with new spectral data (if applicable)
- Case study
Format
Classroom training with engaging presentations and hands-on exercises, ensuring active participation and learning.
Target group
Laboratory managers, quality managers, spectroscopy specialists, and advanced users proficient with their NIR/FTIR instrument wish to become autonomous in developing and monitoring their calibrations.
