FOSS Global Sourcing is searching for a Tactical Purchaser to join our team in Hillerød. The position has global responsibility in supporting our production sites in Hillerød, DK and in Suzhou, China. In Global Sourcing, there are 15 employees in Hillerød and 7 in China.

Global Sourcing is part of Production & Supply Chain (P&SC) and responsible for obtaining cost efficiency and implementing LEAN sourcing solutions throughout the inbound supply chain. P&SC supports our customers for global analytical solutions by providing a scalable and competitive end-to-end supply chain.

The job

As a Tactical Purchaser, you will be an important interface between production and suppliers, and you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the sourcing and supply chain strategies defined by Category Managers according to the overall strategy within Global Sourcing and P&SC.

You will be reporting to the Director of Global Sourcing.

Primary tasks

As our new Tactical Purchaser your primary tasks will include:

• Daily, direct communication with suppliers, negotiations with suppliers
• Making Frame Order Agreements with suppliers, and agreement management
• Being responsible for sourcing master data in our MRP system (SAP), such as unit price, lead time, quantity
• Supplier management with respect to Quality Performance, Delivery Performance & Cost savings, and driving Supplier Development
• Working closely with Category Managers, organizing, and participating in Quarterly Business Review meetings with suppliers
• Supporting engineering changes from a sourcing perspective, handling Engineering Change Orders
• Benchmark activities, and involvement in supply chain optimization projects
• Assisting Regulatory Compliance
• Last but not least, supporting production and daily operations with regards to delivery, quality issues, and/or invoices/payment with finance department.

Qualifications

We are looking for a new colleague to work in (but not limited to) these areas: optical components, electrical-mechanical components, and other technical components. All components/spendings are related to direct spendings/production.

The ideal candidate has some years’ experiences in purchasing, sourcing, and/or procurement. You might have a Supply Chain Management degree or engineering degree. You can be a technician with strong experiences from purchasing, or you are with another background but having a good understanding of the whole supply chain and having a passion for procurement.

Experience in SAP and Microsoft Office including Excel, where you are used to working with data from the ERP system (SAP) is considered an advantage.

As English is FOSS’ corporate language, we expect you to have good English skills (oral and written).

Proficient Danish skills is an advantage, but not mandatory.

Being successful in the position is closely linked to your abilities to establish good working relationships with stakeholders and to perform in cross functional workflows. As a person you are a flexible, self-driven, result-oriented team player with strong commercial skills, and you can work independently within your own projects. You are comfortable with handling different tasks at the same time.
