The job

For our sales and service subsidiary in North America, we are looking for a local HR Generalist to support the organization. FOSS North America is FOSS’s largest subsidiary and employs around 100+ employees with a revenue of more than 80 mill. USD. Our office is located in Eden Prairie, MN and you will be expected to work from the office.

FOSS North America has ambitious expansion plans and therefore we need an HR professional to support this journey.

We work with a high level of directness and trust – and the employees are expected to assume high level of personal responsibility, integrity and autonomy. As HR professional, you will be the ambassador for this culture. 

Reporting to Global HR in Denmark, you will also be part of FOSS’ Global HR organization counting 20 employees across the globe. You will work close with both the Global HR organization and with the local organization in FOSS North America and you will have a dotted reporting line to the VP for Finance of FOSS North America.

Primary tasks:

In the role as local HR manager, you will work on a variety of tasks, such as:

  • Recruitment and on/ off boarding of staff – we have a global on and off-boarding system, but would love your take on how we make it even better
  • Employee relations and compensation and benefits planning (excluding Payroll and benefits which is handled by Finance)
  • Employee engagement and implementation of the FOSS culture – including overseeing execution of FOSS human resources policies and programs
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Answers employee/candidate questions about HR policies and offerings
  • HR processes – e.g., follow up on the employee engagement survey and training and career development for Sales, Service, and Administration teams
  • Employer branding

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist with minimum 4 years’ experience within HR. We are looking for an HR colleague who is experienced within various HR disciplines and with US labor law. We have a few employees in Canada, so if you are familiar with Canadian labor law, it's a plus.

Personal skills

We are looking for an experience HR Generalist who should be comfortable being proactive and taking initiative. In many cases, you will be first point of contact for employees and managers, and we expect you to come with a high drive and a ‘can-do’ attitude. You need to be ready to handle the many different types of tasks that will fall under your responsibility. We expect you to work with high integrity.

Furthermore, we are looking for a team player who can communicate clearly (written and verbal) with various levels of management, ability to foster teamwork, management skills, great networking skills, and the ability to work independently while still functioning in a team environment.
