The job

We are looking for a Backend Test Automation Engineer to help write and maintain automated integration tests for a variety of products and services. A good candidate is a person who is focused on making a great quality product, not just breaking things. Apart from managing an automated testing suite, a person would need to perform manual exploratory testing where applicable.

Responsibilities

We expect you to take over our existing Automated Backend Testing codebase on Postman and develop it into a generic test automation setup. As a Backend Test Automation Engineer you will convert complex use cases into clean and reusable automated test scenarios. Your test design approach should ensure that tests validate the business logic of the application through API. User Interface of the application will be verified by Frontend Testing Engineers.

You will be working closely with developers who are ready to support with ongoing issues and challenges in test automation, both technical and functional.

A candidate we are looking for should be able to:

• Write automated integration tests to connect cloud-based services to web-apps
• Deploy and manage those tests on our CI/CD (we could write that it’s mostly Azure DevOps)
• Performing manual tests where automated tests are not possible or practical
• Provide meaningful inputs for the dashboards like test coverage & run statistics
• Confirm and assist in triaging bug reports
• Friendly helpful nature for cross team collaboration
• Work closely with Product Owner to define and prioritize work into sprints
• 3+ years of backend software testing experience
• Experience with writing API tests using Postman. (also good to be able to write this in C#)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines. (mostly Azure DevOps)
• Solid experience in testing RESTful applications
• Focused on software quality assurance and test automation
• Ability to work with multiple technologies with the capacity to pick up new ones as required
• Ready to take ownership over the System API testing framework

Requirements
