Lean Partner – help us transform our production set-up on our Lean journey
Production and Supply Chain
Nils Foss Allé 1
Ready to utilize your skills and do what you do best?
Roll up your sleeves and use your inventive and ever-changing Lean toolbox at the world’s leading producer of innovative analytical instruments that monitor and control food quality.
Be smarter, think greener – and leaner
Food production is bound to increase immensely in the coming years to keep up with growing populations all over the world – a 60% increase in production by 2050, to be exact.
It is our mission to make sure that our customers, food and agricultural companies around the world can meet this higher demand without sacrificing sustainable values. To be able to do so, we need to rethink how we integrate and adjust our current and future Lean methodologies and tools. And this is where you come in!
“Your purpose is to think outside the standard Lean box as you help create essential solutions that ensure a sustainable, competitive production,” – Christine Fisker, Plant Director.
“We are working on becoming more flexible – and as you become part of our Lean transformation journey, you help us clarify the ways to our success, as well as define the tools to help us get there,” – Christine.
A new production plant in sight – and you put Lean thinking on the agenda…
You will report to the SVP of Production and Supply Chain and will be working closely with both the production management team and material support, as well as operators and technicians from our production and supply chain. Doing so, you will for example be coaching the managers to ensure that they get the best results from their daily stand-up meetings with their respective teams. You will also help establish a strong, continuous improvement culture based on embedded daily routines supported by simple digital Lean tools.
It is all about interaction. To us, Lean is not a religion or a rigid toolbox – it is a way of working and a way of thinking that will empower our production to be competitive and strong in all its layers and chains. It needs to be anchored both at the very top of the organization and at the daily life on the shop floor – and this is what we have set out to do in FOSS.
And your colleagues? They are all on board with you on this journey and will be certified in the Lean practice.
In the future, we expect to be working from a new production plant – but with the same people and with the same endgame. Your task is therefore to create sustainable Lean initiatives, with methods that work in both our current setup and the one to come. That way, you ensure that seeing is believing when it comes to change and transformation.
One of the first tasks on your agenda is for example to pinpoint how we optimize and utilize our space and facilities in the best way possible.
… while creating the change at eye level
And did we mention that this is a newly created position? You will therefore be defining your own role, implementing Lean as you see fit – and we are all ears.
But you will probably spend some of your time:
- Having shop floor time and participating in stand-up meetings in the production
- Looking ahead and planning projects as part of our weekly management meetings
- Contributing to our Friday information announcements with your sharp inputs to hone our communication – or remind us of what should be conveyed
Partners in sustainable global development
Here, you get the comfort in knowing that your hard work does actual good in the world, as we are continuously working towards supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
To reach those goals, we are actively involved in the UN Global Compact to ensure that we are always on track. We are also members of SEDEX, which means that we allow independent audits of our supply chain every 2-3 years, guaranteeing that we uphold the highest standards in labor rights, health & safety, environmental impact and business ethics.
