The job

FOSS is looking for an experienced Key Account Manager to take on a challenging job in a global and innovative company.

You will be given the opportunity to work with highly advanced, market leading analytical solutions in a strong cross-functional and multi-cultural environment.

Reporting directly to the VP Key Account Management in Denmark, you will be part of a team of 9 dedicated global key account managers.

The team consists of truly global professionals, where English is the working language, and you must expect to be travelling 80+ days per year.

You will be working out of your home office or at Foss Innovation Center in Hillerød, Denmark.

You will initially have responsibility for a handful of large, international Dairy companies headquartered in EU.

You will later be assigned additional global or regional Dairy key accounts inside or outside the EU.

You will be responsible for the overall sales performance of the portfolio of existing as well as new global and regional key accounts.

You will set the strategic direction and priorities - and together with colleagues from FOSS Sales and Service Subsidiaries and Distributors - drive, coordinate and execute account strategies.

You will be responsible for identifying key stakeholders, establish and nurture customer relationships in order to position FOSS as a preferred supplier and partner.

In close cooperation with FOSS’ technical experts, you will be responsible for managing your portfolio of accounts to generate long-term, sustainable growth and customer satisfaction.


Primary tasks

As Key Account Manager, you will be expected to develop close relations and a broad network in the customer’s headquarter and regional centers and to gain insight in the customers strategic agenda, understanding how this agenda can be furthered by Foss solutions.

You will gain insight in the customers installed base and plans for investments in analytical equipment, as well as promote Foss portfolio and uncover opportunities not included in the customer’s investment plans.

We expect you to develop tactics to outmaneuver Foss competitors, as well as a strategy and an account plan for positioning Foss as a partner and the preferred or sole supplier of analytical equipment.

You will thus proactively drive growth in sales both with a short and long-term perspective.

You will also execute the account plan and support local Foss sales people with driving sales to the customer, as well as meeting regularly with customer’s management to review Foss performance on sales, service and support – and to ensure corrective measures are put in place in Foss, if needed.

You will hold full responsibility for liaison with key stakeholders within our customer’s organizations and driving the customer relationship forward, developing and executing account strategies.

We expect you to negotiate, coordinate and maintain global agreements as well as managing collaborative partnerships and special projects.

In addition, you may occasionally be called on to use your expertise to support local sales people and distributors on selected, large sales opportunities on accounts that are not assigned as key accounts.



We expect you to have a solid b-t-b sales background (5-10 years minimum) selling to the dairy industry at a strategic level.

Preferably you have experience with analytical instruments, dairy processing and/or food quality assurance, and you have documented experience in selling capital goods to larger global companies.

We imagine that you have an academic background (Masters or Bachelor) in engineering, food science or business administration.

Furthermore, we are looking for candidates with international sales/marketing experience who are strong communicators and fluent in both written and spoken English.

You have strong business acumen, and you naturally take full ownership of your business area and you thrive in executing customer-facing activities.

You are able to think strategically and act tactically to deliver win-win results for FOSS and our customers.

You are robust, ambitious, persistent and highly structured and have a good strategic overview and a goal oriented approach to your job.

You act as a self-starter and multi-tasker, with a capacity to perform in a fast-paced environment.
