At FOSS, we are driven by a strong sense of purpose: A fast-growing world population means that global food production will have to increase by 60% by 2050 to meet demand. We develop instruments resulting in smarter ways to make the best use of agricultural resources and to help eliminate food waste.
Join us on exciting projects as a Laboratory Technician
We offer a full-time position as a laboratory technician in a dynamic work environment with a high focus on innovation and customer experience. You will work in R&D, in a flat organization with a high degree of cooperation across all departments. At FOSS, we value our employees. Cooperation based on confidence, straightforward communication, and clear objectives gives job satisfaction and good colleagues. We wish to motivate our employees to take responsibility and influence their work situation.
You will be a part of one or more development projects where you will perform tests and analyses in the laboratory and take care of sample collection, sample preparation, and data processing. The daily work will be a combination of independent and self-planned work, as well as tasks requiring strong collaboration with a dedicated project team, or cooperation and sharing of knowledge with the entire team of laboratory technicians.
FOSS develops and produces state-of-the-art analytical instruments for the food industry, where the instruments analyze the various nutrient content of food and agriculture crops – for example, milk, meat, wine, grain, and more. Our instruments combine advanced electronics and optics with sophisticated flow systems, mechanical features, and dedicated chemical reagents. As a laboratory technician, you get to prepare and analyze a variety of samples and reagents, give input to the User Interface of new instruments, and evaluate the performance of these, against reference methods, during development.
You will get to work with a wide range of technologies such as NIR spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray imaging, and flow cytometry, as well as automated chemical analysis.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate holds an educational background as a laboratory technician. We expect you to be structured, systematic, and independent – able to take responsibility for, plan and execute the tasks assigned to you. We expect you to be comfortable with project plans that may change on short notice, since this is inherent in many R&D projects. You are self-driven and have a natural curiosity for learning new things. It is considered an advantage to write and speak English and Danish.
We picture you as a team player with a good sense of humor. You are talented at building strong working relationships and working with many different people. You will be part of a team with many different competencies: Chemists, mechanical engineers, software developers, etc. This requires that you can coordinate, interact and communicate across the team.
