The job

FOSS is growing and we need to develop more instruments even faster than ever before. To achieve this, ensuring efficient R&D development tools is key for us. As CAD Manager you will be responsible for the FOSS CAD setup, mainly Inventor, by collecting input from users and making sure it is converted into solid solutions by IT. Training and supporting users will be an important part of your job, including creation of skeleton models, iLogic and Platforms/Modules.

Furthermore, you will play a key role in the implementation of our new PLM/PDM system including cloud collaboration with external suppliers and consultants. Focus is on collaboration - creating data rather than handing over data. You will collect input from R&D Engineers but also Production, Procurement, Service etc. and the right solutions found in collaboration with IT.

You will report to R&D Hardware Mechanics in Denmark, a team of highly skilled Mechanical Engineers focused on creating Platform Designs and improving the development process. The position is full time and the need for traveling is expected to be less than 10 days/year.


Primary task

Your primary tasks are to support, ease and optimize multidisciplinary R&D development, by collecting needs/pain points and implementing improvements. You are in charge of the roadmap for the CAD area and for prioritizing within project portfolio.

Your main stakeholders are from R&D and involve disciplines from Mechanics, Electronics, Simulation, Test and Verification and Laboratory chemistry. However, stakeholders from remaining parts of the organization and outside the organization must be included also. Ultimately the overall goal is faster delivery to end customer.



You hold a degree in mechanical engineering, and you have minimum 5 years working experience in more of the below areas:

  • Autodesk Inventor
    - CAD configuration, iLogic, skeleton
    - Modules/Platforms
    - System setup


  • Training users

  • Collecting and prioritizing needs/pain points

  • Project Management

  • Mechanical Engineering


Knowledge about Autodesk Fusion 360 tools is considered an advantage, but not a must.

Furthermore, you speak and write Danish and English.


Personal skills

You love to improve the tools around mechanical product development and you are not afraid to challenge AS-IS. At the same time, you involve all stakeholders and make decisions based on facts and data even when it points in a different direction than you are heading.

Being our light house within CAD, we expect you to keep your CAD knowledge updated at all times.

Project Management skills are important to ensure solid stakeholder management and successful implementation according to user needs.
