The R&D software department at our HQ near Copenhagen employs more than 100 software developers which makes up for about 1/3 of the whole R&D organization at FOSS. Our SW department is responsible for developing innovative software solutions in excellent quality using the latest technologies for our analytical instruments, and therefore has a significant contribution to the success of our new product launches. You will have the unique opportunity to be part of the success of our new software department at Soft Flow by joining the software team. The new department will work closely together with HQ on interdisciplinary projects where we integrate advanced technologies and software into our products.

The job

The SW department is responsible for developing software for our analytical instruments, and therefore has a significant contribution to the success of our new product launches. You will be responsible for Interactive / Automated testing of various aspects of our software platform.

Your primary tasks will involve:

  • Develop test cases, test scenarios based on features / functionality of our software platform and other non-functional requirements (security, performance, etc.)
  • Identify testcases which are good candidates for automation, and either implement the tests yourself or assist developers in implementing test cases
  • Create and update documents describing the automated tests and best practices in this area
  • Plan test execution, produce test data, analyse test results
  • Execute manual tests to design and verify the concept of the automated tests
  • Report bugs via Azure DevOps, keep the tickets up to date
  • Assist with resolution and reproduction of reported software issues, support the developers during the bug fixing
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and domain specialists to understand the requirements
  • Visualizing your work in a Scrum context to be able to collaborate closely with HQ

For this we will provide proper inhouse trainings and introduction to our platforms, on how instruments are developed and insight into the specific instrument requirements and specifications. We further expect you to work in an open and transparent fashion in a cross-boarding collaboration between the new team in Pécs and software development at HQ. Our solutions are implemented using different programming languages ranging from Angular web UI over C# using .NET Framework / .Net Core 3.0 / .NET 5 for backend and business logic to C++ in our embedded SW. Interest and ability to work in more than one of the areas above is a surplus.

Your daily work will be at Soft Flow in Pécs Hungary. However, it is expected that you will have 5-10 traveling days per year to Denmark.

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc in software engineering or computer science
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar roles
  • Experience in developing, enhancing and maintaining test automation tools / frameworks
  • Knowledge of testing processes, tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge / experience of Agile Software Development & Testing
  • Knowledge of C# language and .NET Framework / Core

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience with multiple test automation tools / frameworks
  • Holding Agile or ISTQB Software Test certification
  • Knowledge and experience of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using such tools as Cucumber, Gherkin
  • Knowledge and experience of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) using Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with web-based development and Azure applications
  • Practical knowledge in a visual task management tool like Azure DevOps or Jira

Personal skills

  • Team player attitude, knowing the difference between working in a team and working as a team
  • Ability to understand complex solutions, as our instruments and solutions are high tech and quite complex
  • Ability to see the big picture meanwhile taking care about the details
  • Ability to help teams analyze and investigate issues, explore solutions, learn and reflect
  • Experience with software development using agile and scrum methodology
  • Good communication skills
  • A good command of English and Hungarian (official project language is English)
