The Product Application Specialist has the main responsibility for carrying out Applications and Training support on FOSS equipment. Reporting to the Service Manager (SM). You will be communicating and working closely together with other FOSS colleagues, as well as having regular contact with customers. The role will require extensive travel within region, and requires stay away from home as required to carry out the role.
You will support all the pre- and after-sales activities where the knowledge of the calibrations and software issues are key to deliver a solution for the customer. You will gather, collate and analyze data from trials and installations, create reports for sales and customer from trials of instruments or any other ad hoc request.
You will have to liaise with sales colleagues to assist and support with planned commercial activity and ensure coordination of activities. You will actively promote and sell applications and training expertise available to customer during any contact. Furthermore, you will train users in software applications use and correct equipment operation and maintenance both in house and at customer sites
You will act as a mentor/adviser to field based service colleagues for escalation assistance when required. Be prepared to lead and present at customer meetings details of application software and application development, both from a new sale and existing installation perspective
You will work to develop applications solutions for ad hoc customer requests. Network across the global applications team to both share with and learn from colleagues. Work with colleagues to develop solution for problems and escalate as and when required to. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by monitoring assigned support activities and maintaining an appropriate level of communication
The position will be located in FOSS Argentina/Peru office in Buenos Aires. The role is responsible for supporting activities across the FOSS South East Asia territory, by responding to customer requests and scheduling Service Engineer and Application travel.
The ideal candidate has a higher, scientific education, and experience in software application support, as well as experience in communicating and dealing with customers and departments within a large corporate organization. Desire background education is chemical engineer, or food engineer.
Furthermore we look for someone with an understanding of basic Food Science and the influence of FOSS instruments on the analysis of such is desired. We also expect you to possess good computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite. Applications such as Word and excel are required for preparing customer reports. You also have the ability to work with statistics and analytics.
We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a high degree of integrity and professionalism. You are well organized and conscientious, with the ability to initiate and handle on your own.
